Home Style Bakery was founded here in Grand Junction in the summer of 1948. When the shop opened in June, owners Walt Schultz and Al Troester had just five employees working at its original location on North Avenue. It wasn't until 24 years later that the shop moved to 7th street where it is still open for business today. Since it opened Home Style has changed ownership and moved locations, but the mission has always been the same. As one of the last true bakeries left in Colorado, the shop puts in the work to have fresh baked goods every morning to sell to the community.
